The Student Development and Welfare Center (SDWC) recently spearheaded the “3Rs Guide to Mental Health Awareness” program, a collaborative initiative designed to support the holistic well-being of the university’s Student Assistants (SAs). Conducted in batches from March 19 to March 30, 2026, at the Psychological Testing Unit (PTU) Room G303, the program provided a professional space for SAs to engage in a group interpretation of their psychological assessment results. Facilitated by University Psychometrician Ms. Deborah Calpo, the sessions allowed SAs to gain a clear understanding of their emotional needs and psychological strengths through expert guidance and individual interpretation copies.
Beyond the technical results, the program emphasized a culture of care through the “3Rs” framework—Reflect, Recognize, and Recover. Ms. Mervhi Lynne Lucio encouraged the SAs to take time to reflect on their own experiences amidst their heavy responsibilities, to recognize when stress becomes overwhelming for themselves or their peers, and to allow themselves the necessity of recovery and rest. The Student Development and Welfare Center (SDWC) and the Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC) utilized this platform to normalize seeking mental health assistance, reminding SAs that they are valued individuals who do not have to face their challenges alone, ensuring a safe and kind environment for all student workers.
