The Student Development and Welfare Office (SDWO) successfully conducted the General Orientation for new Student Assistants for the First Trimester of AY 2024-2025 on August 28, 2024, at the UC Auditorium. The event, held from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, welcomed 139 student assistants to the program.
The orientation aimed to familiarize the new batch of student assistants with the university’s policies, programs, and support services. Key speakers provided essential insights to prepare students for their dual roles as learners and contributors to the university’s operations.
Dave Darell C. Manginsay, Student Discipline Coordinator, led a session on Student Conduct and Discipline, emphasizing the importance of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to university guidelines.
Cinderella Ronalyn E. Cubacub, GCO Officer, discussed the university’s Guidance and Counseling Services, highlighting available support systems for academic and personal growth.
Rygie Carulla, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) staff, provided an overview of Occupational Safety and Health protocols to ensure a safe and conducive working environment for the student assistants.
Mervhi Lynne B. Lucio, Scholarship and Special Programs Coordinator, concluded the event with a comprehensive discussion on the Student Assistantship Program Agreement, detailing the responsibilities, expectations, and benefits of being a part of the program.
The orientation underscored UC’s commitment to fostering a supportive and structured environment for its student assistants, equipping them with the tools to balance academic responsibilities and work assignments. The university looks forward to the contributions of the new student assistants in achieving shared institutional goals.
