The University of the Cordilleras (UC) welcomed representatives from the Commission on Higher Education – Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (CHED-UniFAST) Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Office for their annual monitoring visit on May 27, 2025. The meeting focused on the university’s implementation of programs under Republic Act 10931, also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, specifically the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP).
The monitoring team, led by Ms. Jezeny O. Laoyan, Lead Regional Coordinator, reviewed UC’s compliance with the provisions of RA 10931, to review key compliance areas, such as documentation, financial processes, and student support systems. The team also checked liquidation reports, ensuring that fund utilization followed proper guidelines and accountability measures.
UC also took the opportunity to share updates on the progress of Project SAGIP (Scholars and Grant Beneficiaries’ Action in Greening Initiatives Program). The monitoring team welcomed the report as an example of the University’s commitment to community involvement, environmental responsibility, and student empowerment.
