To welcome and equip the newest members of the university’s student workforce, the Student Affairs Services – Student Development and Welfare Office conducted an orientation for 28 new Student Assistants (SAs) and 4 returning SAs on May 9, 2025, at the Library Collab Zone.
Ms. Mervhi Lynne Lucio, Scholarship and Special Programs Coordinator, served as the main facilitator. She discussed the Student Assistantship Program Agreement, highlighting key points on accountability, time management, and balancing academic and work responsibilities

Janine Ericka Paneda, Student Discipline Coordinator, led a session on Student Conduct and Discipline, focusing on professionalism, accountability, and adherence to UC’s policies.
To reinforce values and proper conduct, Ms. Janine Ericka Paneda, Student Discipline Coordinator, presented the Student Code of Conduct, emphasizing adherence to university policies as stated in the Student Handbook.
The orientation allowed participants to engage in meaningful dialogue, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of their roles within the institution. It concluded with a message of encouragement centered on service, and personal growth.
This activity is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by inclusive learning opportunities and empowering scholars to be responsible and productive members of the academic community.
